Novig is available in 47 states to users aged 21 and over. It is not offered in Arizona, Michigan or Nevada. Those are the three states where enforcement against prediction markets has gone furthest, and Novig appears to have decided to skip them rather than litigate. Everywhere else, including the big non-sportsbook states (California, Texas, Georgia, Florida), Novig's sports contracts are live.
The three exclusions
| State | What's happened there | Alternatives for sports |
|---|---|---|
| Arizona | 20 misdemeanor charges against Kalshi (March 2026), blocked by a federal judge; appeals continue | Kalshi, ProphetX (19+) |
| Michigan | Court-ordered shutdown of Kalshi's sports contracts (March 2026) | Licensed sportsbooks (21+); Kalshi non-sports only |
| Nevada | Ninth Circuit ruled for the state (Aug 28, 2026); Kalshi sports/elections blocked, Polymarket geoblocked | Licensed sportsbooks (21+, in-person registration) |
Everywhere else
Novig's sports contracts are available, subject to the 21+ rule and identity verification. Washington is worth a specific check: it isn't excluded by Novig, but the state's 2026 order forced Kalshi to geofence sports, elections and entertainment markets, and Novig launched around the same time; confirm in the app from inside the state.
Why 21
Novig's choice, matching state sports-betting law rather than the 18+ rule Kalshi and Polymarket use. It may also help in court: one of the states' complaints against Kalshi is that it offers sports contracts to 18-year-olds.
Exclusions per Novig's support pages as reported at the August 4, 2026 relaunch (SBC Americas); state actions per CBS Sports and OddsShopper (October 2026).
