DraftKings Predictions review

DraftKings Predictions is DraftKings' route into states where its sportsbook isn't allowed. The standalone app launched in December 2025 in 38 states, with sports and finance contracts listed on CME Group, and DraftKings has a second act planned: it bought Railbird, a CFTC-registered exchange, in October 2025 and intends to run its own markets on it. Until that happens, this is a CME broker with a DraftKings skin, available for sports in California, Florida, Georgia and Texas among others, and without a published fee schedule.

How it's built

DraftKings Predictions is a futures commission merchant registered with the CFTC and a member of the NFA. At launch it connects to CME Group, which lists the contracts; DraftKings said it would connect to multiple exchanges over time, beginning with CME, with its own Railbird Exchange to follow. Owning an exchange is what separates Kalshi and Polymarket from brokers like Robinhood; DraftKings is the only sportsbook on track to join that group.

Markets and states

  • At launch: sports and finance. Entertainment and culture categories were announced as coming.
  • States: 38 for event contracts generally. Sports contracts in a subset that includes California, Florida, Georgia and Texas, the large states with no legal online sportsbook.
  • Not listed: DraftKings hasn't published a single public state list; availability is shown in-app.

Fees

This is the weak point of the public information. DraftKings doesn't publish a prediction-markets fee schedule like Kalshi (7% × P × (1 − P)) or FanDuel Predicts (2% of payout). The fee is disclosed in the order ticket. Our expectation, based on the FanDuel structure on the same exchange, is a flat per-contract charge in the 1–2¢ range, but we won't put a number on it until DraftKings does. If you trade here, write down what the ticket shows on a 50¢ contract and compare it with our Kalshi fee table.

Promotions

The launch offer has been up to $200 in bonuses paid out over 21 days after a $5+ trade, no code needed. DraftKings-style promotions tend to come with trading requirements and expiries; read the terms in the app.

Who it's for

DraftKings customers in non-sportsbook states who want the familiar brand on a regulated event-contract product. Serious traders should wait for Railbird and a published fee schedule; Kalshi serves the same states today with transparent costs and deeper markets.

Launch details per Gaming Intelligence (Dec 19, 2025) and Covers (Oct 2025 Railbird acquisition report); availability per Legal Sports Report (Oct 14, 2026).

Questions people ask

Is DraftKings Predictions the same as DraftKings Sportsbook?

No. It's a separate app and a separate legal structure: a futures broker offering CFTC-regulated event contracts, built to reach states where the sportsbook can't operate and users aged 18+.

Where is DraftKings Predictions available?

38 states at launch, with sports contracts in states like California, Florida, Georgia and Texas that have no legal online sports betting. DraftKings hasn't published the full list in one place; the app shows what's available where you are.

What is Railbird?

A CFTC-registered exchange DraftKings bought in October 2025. The app launched on CME contracts and DraftKings has said Railbird would be connected later, giving it its own order book and rules.

What does it cost?

DraftKings hasn't published a simple fee schedule the way Kalshi has. Costs are shown in the order ticket before you confirm.
